NYS Operation Military Kids will be holding a FREE workshop on Saturday May 1 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Holiday Inn Syracuse in Liverpool, NY. Lunch will be provided.
This workshop is open to youth workers, counselors, educators, and others interested in best practices to support military children and families in their communities. The workshop will offer insight into military culture, the deployment cycle and its effects on children and families. It will also suggest best ways to provide for and understand the needs of military youth. The training will focus on the Operation: Military Kids Ready, Set, Go! manual and the new Deployment Cycle Support Yellow Ribbon Youth Outreach Guides.
